Winner of a 2016 World Beer Cup Award, The 33 Acres of Euphoria is a Belgian Trippel that is bottle conditioned and sold in 750ml bottles. Coming in at 9.2% alcohol this is a big and intense beer, don’t tell the food and inspection agency though as the beer is mislabeled as being a “strong beer” as opposed to “Extra Strong Beer”. This beer pours from the (not easily opened) corked bottle a colour of hazy gold topped with one finger of head that settles without a trace. The aroma is sweet with a moderate Belgian yeast character along side notes of coriander, wheat, orange peel and a mellow booziness. Tasting the beer, low carbonation meets a creamy mouthfeel and sweetness. The sweetness masks the boozy character from the nose and subdues the coriander spice and orange peel notes. While perhaps a touch under carbonated this is a well crafted, traditional style Belgian Tripel.

Marguet Shaman Blanc NV Zero Dosage is a Champagne made by Benoit Marguet using organic and biodynamic farming practices. It is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, and is aged on lees for at least 18 months. The wine has no added sugar, resulting in a zero dosage Champagne with a bone-dry, crisp taste. Located in Normandy along the Cider Route in the heart of Pays d’Auge, the Pierre Huet family estate has been producing and selling Calvados, Pommeau de Normandie, and Cider for five generations. Their 30 hectares of orchards feature more than 25 varieties of cider apples, grown on both tall apple trees and low stems. The Crème Pierre Huet is best enjoyed chilled (between 8 and 10°C), either on ice or neat, as an aperitif or after dinner, much like a whisky or rum cream!

Nose: Creamy, aromatic nose with hints of hay, malted barley, oak and mixed peels. Palate: Soft smoke and gingerbread, oodles of toasty spices, Demerara sugar and boiled sweets.

Caparzo Rosso di Montalcino is a red wine produced by Caparzo winery located in Montalcino, Tuscany, Italy. The wine is made using 100% Sangiovese grapes, which are grown in the vineyards surrounding the winery. The wine is aged for a short period in oak barrels to enhance its complexity and depth of flavor. On the nose, the wine exhibits aromas of red berries, violets, and hints of spice. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with a good balance of acidity and tannins, and flavors of cherry, blackberry, and earthy undertones. This wine is a great pairing with grilled meats, pasta dishes with tomato-based sauces, and mature cheeses.

The Source of Joy Rose is a blend of grenache, syrah and cinsault – the perfect combination of red grape varieties to create an outstanding, flavourful rose.  On the nose, the intensity of the fruit highlights complex aromas of strawberry and cherry, with hints of licorice. This Syrah, crafted from the SH99 Syrah clone of the 'Karibib Vineyard' in the Polkadraai Hills, is a masterpiece for Syrah enthusiasts. Hand-harvested fruit was fermented naturally in a concrete fermenter with skins and stems for 10 days, then aged in a 15hL concrete egg for 10 months with gross lees intact. The wine is clean and fresh with notes of lime and citrus; surprisingly rhubarb and a little hint of red apples on an underlying mineral base. The finish is dry and relatively long.
