A blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre, this wine was matured in traditional concrete vats for eight months. Expect a fruit-forward glassful of black cherries and mulberries and pour alongside chicken thighs with mushrooms and bacon.

The 2001 Léoville Las Cases is a vintage I’ve encountered many times. Now at two decades old, it has a generous nose with those black plums still in situ, along with graphite and cedar; this bottle is a little more backward, probably due to the provenance. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, white pepper and sage and fine grip. Though it’s not as precise or chiseled as recent vintages, there is admirable complexity on the lightly peppered, tobacco- and rooibos-tinged finish. Excellent. 2021 - 2050

Opening sniffs encounter deep scents of brown sugar and toffee; six more minutes add succulent aromas of candied walnut, toasted marshmallow, treacle and dark, old honey. Entry is round, supple, oily and creamy in texture, with highlights of burnt sugar and cocoa; midpalate is suddenly quite earthy, grassy and lean, with pocket flavors of treacle and marzipan. Mike Grgich first gained international recognition at the celebrated Paris Tasting of 1976. This historic tasting gave the 1973 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay, crafted by Mike Grgich, first place as the finest white wine in the world. After this solid recognition, he started Grgich Hills winery in Rutherford Hills. 2023 marks the 100th birthday of this iconic producer who is a legend in Napa Valley. This Cabernet offers black currant and ripe black cherries, followed by forest floor and bay leaf and vanilla undertones. Bright acidity, and youthful tannins are evident; no doubt this wine has the ability to age.

With 170ha of vineyards in the Collio region of Friuli Venezia-Giulia, Jermann has four generations of winemaking under its belt with Silvio Jermann the current visionary and winemaker. This wine made from 100% Pinot Nero, is elegant with notes of sweet red fruit and slight herbaceousness, and perhaps more full bodied that its French counterpart. Pinot Nero from Italy is a thing of beauty!

At its core Mirabeau Gin is a classic Dry Gin. Mirabeau has used a 100% grape-based neutral spirit which adds roundness and subtle fruitiness to the palate. Lemons and Coriander add layers of fresh citrus character. Orris and Angelica roots impart floral and earthy tones respectively. Canella Lido Prosecco Rosé DOC is a sparkling wine produced by Canella winery located in Veneto, Italy. The wine is made using the Glera and Pinot Nero grape varieties, which are grown in the Veneto and Friuli regions of Italy. The wine is a pale pink color with fine and persistent bubbles, and has delicate aromas of strawberries, raspberries, and cherries. On the palate, the wine is fresh and lively, with a balanced acidity and a crisp, dry finish. This Prosecco Rosé is a great aperitif or accompaniment to light seafood dishes.

This Auslese (late harvest) wine from Weingut Bergdolt-Reif Nett is a classic example of Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris) from the Pfalz region. It has a deep golden color with aromas of ripe peach, apricot, and honey. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied with flavors of baked apple, pear, and a touch of spice. The wine has a well-balanced acidity, which gives it a lively freshness and a long, satisfying finish.

The Paternoster Rotondo Aglianico del Vulture is a full-bodied red wine made from 100% Aglianico grapes grown in the Aglianico del Vulture subregion of Basilicata, Italy. The wine is deep ruby red in color and offers aromas of ripe dark fruits, leather, tobacco, and spices. On the palate, it is rich and intense with flavors of blackberry, plum, licorice, and black pepper, with firm tannins and a long, persistent finish. Scarabus, meaning ‘rocky place' in Old Norse, is named after a mystical area of Islay. This is a 10 year old version of Hunter Laing's original Scarabus single malt Scotch whisky. Produced by an undisclosed distillery on the legendary isle of Islay, this expression is aged in a combo of refill, ex-bourbon and virgin oak casks, and bottled up after a decade of maturation.
Nose: Soft phenolic peat smoke, slightly bitter with hints of Lapsang Souchong, tar, sea spray and toasted brioche developing along the way. Behind it lemon and honey sweetness.

Palate: Golden syrup, vanilla, and a slow rumble of peaty smoke and crushed peppercorns. In the mouth a tad rounder and more voluminous than its little brother.

Finish: Sweet peat, umami and some floral freshness. Medium length.

Dry, with less than 2g/l of residual sugar, this Riesling from Washington State spends some time on the lees in older oak barrels just to add a little texture, and that works: it is brimming with bright citrus and rosy apple, a little floral aroma, a tang of lemon sherbet and lots of zest. The palate has that bit of weight and texture, but those sweeping acids fire through the peachier, slightly more tropical tones, but shimmering and long and delightfully zippy and fresh.

Unlike a typical 100% malt whiskey, Woodford Reserve is a Kentucky Straight Malt Whiskey crafted from 51% malt and aged in new charred oak barrels, making it the malt whiskey for bourbon drinkers. The base of 51 % malt results in a whiskey that is richly flavorful and complex and amplifies the nutty characteristics found in the original Woodford Reserve.

Soft nutty notes drizzled with light caramel and milk chocolate coat a layer of fruit character (apple, dried fruit, tropical fruit). Hints of brown spice, savoury mint and brown sugar mingle with a rich note of freshly milled toasted oak.

TASTE
Dark chocolate and caramel-coated nuts are dried out with a dusting of cocoa powder and brown spice. A fruit medley brightens a trace of toasted coconut and rich, bright oak character.

The Vigneto Cialdini is Cleto Chiarli's top-of-the-line Lambrusco Grasparossa. The vineyard is located in the heart of the Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro denomination, where this member of the Lambrusco family has been cultivated since time immemorial. The wine is made through a single fermentation under pressure, rather than the normal two-fermentation process of almost all other sparkling wines. This is in the brut range, with a slight sweetness detectable. Vigneto Cialdini is the name of the vineyard, dedicated to Enrico Cialdini, who was a famous general during the unification of Italy.

Champagne Blanc de Blancs is the all new cuvée from Maison Charles Heidsieck : a tenseness and mineral cuvée.

Reserve de la Comtesse is the second label of the Chateau Pichon Longueville, a 2nd growth of Pauillac in the 1855 Classification. From the suprisingly quality vintage of 2014, this wine is a blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon and 41% Merlot. With clear ageing potential (due to the high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon) there is a deep core of plum, cassis, raspberry and cedar notes with a lush, concentrated and structured palate. Although this is in a good place for drinking now, it can be aged further.

"The 2016 Prieure-Lichine has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and a bold, intensely scented nose of warm blackcurrants, black raspberries and mulberries with hints of cedar chest, tobacco, dried herbs and iron ore. In the glass, the Cabernet Sauvignon Blanc de Noir presents itself in a very pale salmon color. The aromas of gooseberries and exotic fruits are therefore intense and unusual. Juicy, elegant and absolutely innovative! A wonderful Blanc de Noir from the Middle Kingdom.

The history of Chateau Duhart-Milon is not as well known as it should be. In the 18th century the wines of Milon became the "second" wine for Chateau Lafite. The 1855 classification awarded Duhart-Milon the only 4th growth in Pauillac, recognizing it for the quality of its soil. Sometime between 1830-1840 35 acres was left to the Casteja family who subsequently possessed a 99acre vinyard name Duhart-Milon. Over the years the property changed hands many times and suffered a decline in the quality of the wines. The property was acquired in 1962 by the Rothschild family who totally overhauled the vineyards and brought back the quality of the wine as a 4th growth. The 2019 Duhart-Milon is a red Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with an up front fruity nose of black currant and blackberry, along with typical Pauillac nuances of pencil shavings, forest floor and cedar. Round, layered and creamy through the palate this wine has excellent potential for great ageing Drink from 2025-2045.

Chateau Lafite Rothschild (Pauillac) – there’s no denying that no matter what vintage, the name of Rothschild will carry the weight and cachet for selling itself, not to mention scoring very high. Cassis, raspberry coulis, and blackberry dominate on a palate of crisp tannins, enormous structure and concentration. Always give this time to age to allow the wine to come into itself. Drink from 2027- 2045. 

Chateau Brane-Cantenac (Margaux)- Lovely, fragrant and elegant, this classy wine is well- defined with aromas of blackberry, cedar and tobacco with a palate of good structure and concentration, streamlined acidity, and velvety texture in this classic Margaux. Drink from 2025-2035.
