Nose: Intense aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and cherry, with hints of cedar, tobacco, and vanilla.

Taste: Rich and full-bodied, with flavors of ripe dark fruits, such as blackberry and plum, accompanied by notes of spice, licorice, and dark chocolate.

Palate: Well-structured with firm tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, lingering finish.

Aromas of newsprint, damp foliage, and wood spice dominate on the nose. Confident, almost fizzy sherry notes on the full palate, with sultanas, figs, and fruit spices. It becomes progressively more citric. The lengthy finish produces dark chocolate dipped in chili sauce. A sherry-soaked dram.

Taste: Smooth and crisp, with notes of agave, lime, and a touch of pepper.
Palate: Balanced and refreshing, with a clean finish.

Waxy plum, bark and sage ride along a throughput of thick tannin and integrated oak in this well-made, full-bodied wine. Varietally earthy and herbal, it offers good value for a high-quality experience of length and breadth.

Reminiscent of dark chocolate covered espresso beans, the aromas of this deep amber colored spirit are indulgent and inviting. The medium viscosity supports a hefty dose of sugar, well balanced with deeply concentrated roasted coffee that is long lasting.

The Evesham Wood Sojeau Vineyard Pinot Noir (Eola-Amity Hills) is a structured, cool-climate wine known for its high energy and bright acidity. Exhibit aromas of raspberry, pine, and candied violets, with flavors of tart black berries, dark plum, clove, and citrus zest, often featuring a long, savoury, and mineral-driven finish. 

Kura The Whisky Sherry Cask Finish is a Helios Distillery expression from Okinawa, Japan, aged in American White Oak and finished in Oloroso sherry casks. It is a 40–43% ABV whisky featuring a rich, complex profile with notes of dried fruit (figs, raisins), caramel, chocolate, and subtle smoke, offering a smooth, long, and sweet finish.

Kujira Inari is a 46% ABV Japanese single grain whisky from Okinawa’s Masahiro Shuzo, crafted from 100% Indica rice and black Koji. Aged in virgin white oak, sherry, and bourbon casks, it features a deep amber color with a flavor profile of tropical fruits, delicate oak, butterscotch, and nuts.

Gahoujin Junmai Dai-Ginjo (我逢人) is a premium, award-winning Japanese sake from Nakano Sake Brewery, crafted with Yamadanishiki rice polished to 30%. It features a fruity aroma (melon, apple, peach) with a creamy, rich texture, a subtle sweetness, and a clean, refreshing finish.

Daishichi Minowamon Junmai Daiginjo (Fukushima) is a premium, award-winning sake crafted using the traditional kimoto method and innovative "super-flat" rice polishing (50% ratio). It features a silky, creamy texture with elegant, refined notes of pear, mango, and melon, balanced by a rich umami backbone, offering a clean, smooth finish. 

Wu Liang Ye (五粮液) is a prestigious Chinese nongxiang (strong aroma) baijiu, known as "Five Grains Liquid." Distilled in Yibin, Sichuan, from sorghum, rice, glutinous rice, wheat, and corn, it is famous for its lasting aroma, mellow, complex taste (notes of pineapple, anise), and smooth, lingering finish.

The Dalmore 12 Year Old Sherry Cask Select is an elegant Highland Single Malt (43% ABV) that is matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks before being finished in a special blend of aged Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. It features notes of caramelised orange, ginger, sultanas, dark chocolate, and cinnamon.

Cambridge Japanese Gin is a 42% ABV, premium spirit from the Cambridge Distillery, designed to highlight Japanese botanicals through individual, low-temperature vacuum distillation. It features a unique, savory, and fresh profile with key notes of yuzu, shiso leaf, sesame, and sansho pepper, offering a "London meets Tokyo" experience. 

Rich ruby red. Spicy, vivid and inviting nose of rich cassis fruit and ripe cherry with Mediterranean herbs in the background. Pithy and juicy on the palate, mouth-filling with clear fruit and long, precise finish.

Les Griffons de Pichon Baron 2018 reveals a deep, almost black colour. The nose is delicate, with notes of black fruits and a hint of subtle, well-integrated wood. The palate is generous and full, with powerful and luscious tannins. The balance is rich and harmonious with tension.

Pristine, attractive fruit with perfume and freshness. Dark-berry and plum notes, as well as cassis and brambleberries, define the character of both nose and palate. The tannins are saturated in ripe dark berries and plums and deliver a superbly fresh, shimmering, dark-fruited finish. Wow-factor is strong here in 2016.

Made from 100% Furmint, the Château Pajzos "T" displays a pale golden color with a gorgeous aromas of apricots, grapefruit, volcanic soils and nuts. The palate is awash with fresh citrus notes of clementine and lime, intermingle with stone fruit flavors and a slightly smokey minerality. The wine is light and crisp with a wonderful tension of taut acidity, giving it a beautiful backbone to which all those flavors can cling. An excellent choice with grilled poultry, fish or cheese dishes, especially grilled cheese with salami.

Xavier Gerard is one of the young stars of the Northern Rhone. His father left him some prime land in the regions of Cote Rotie (including a tiny parcel in La Landonne), Condrieu and Saint Joseph. Although he is not certified, he practises organically in all his vineyards, and all of his wines are unfined and unfiltered. This is a blend of 96% Syrah and 4% Viognier, which makes its presence known with a touch of stone fruit among the ripe forest berries. Good concentration and smooth tannins, yet with high acidity that all lead to a long finish.

Bisci is synonymous with Verdicchio, being crafted in the mountain area of Matelica and staying true to the terroir giving wines that are more austere and higher in acidity. This is a great wine of typicity with a nose full of green and yellow apple, Anjou pear, yellow flowers, even hints of pineapple but still with the mineral nuances, and even a flinty petrol. On the palate that lees ageing was evident as it was very textural and almost tannic, which lends itself to a full bodied wine. More flavours of yellow apple and pear, great minerality and of course, bitter almond. If one is looking to try Verdicchio for the first time, this is a good place to start!

Its robe is soft, with discreet copper glints and lively fine bubbles. The bouquet is rich and intense in cauldron-cooked small red and black fruits, biscuits and pastry aromas. A very lovely attack on the palate which subsequently reveals its suppleness, fruitiness and vivacity in terms of fine and full-bodied tannins. This is a tender and structured cuvee.

The Rosé Dolorès is best enjoyed as a fresh and light aperitif on a beautiful sunny day. It is also perfect for sweet dishes such as seasonal red fruit tarts with lemon zests, or a red fruit salad with mint served with a generous slice of a flaky brioche. A touch of elegance that is pleasing to everyone.

Lucien Lardy is a family owned property with vineyards in the Fleurie and Moulin-A-Vent crus of Beaujolais. The fruit for this Villages wine was selected from a Fleurie vineyard that is over 50 years old. Perfect with Asian food, this Gamay is bright with bursts of wild cherry. Serve slightly chilled for the best experience!

Exclusive to CLS, we don't often see Nebbiolo done in rose form, but the brother and sister team at Antoniolo of Lorella (whom this wine is named after)and Alberto have created this gorgeous rosato that is intense and fragrant with juicy red raspberries and violets. Initial mouth feel is soft but the acidity is high with a subtle spicy kick. Slight tannins and medium alcohol all rolled into a perfectly balanced wine. Only 50 more bottles left in the province, and they are here at CLS, so be sure to get your hands on one (or three, or...)

Konrad Salwey is a third generation winemaker from the heart of Kaiserstuhl and whose focus is Pinot Noir. With harvests done in both Burgundy and Alsace, Konrad is making some excellent, world class Pinot Noir. Organic farming principles and low-yielding old vines produce a complex red wine with silky tannins. Dominated by ripe dark cherry, the palate is balanced by a pleasant acidity and supported by well-integrated, elegant tannins. This wine is worth so much more than the price it displays!

Deep garnet in color with rich raspberry, fig, exotic clove spice, and notes of fresh mint. Layered briary fruit on the palate with cocoa and a slight crushed granite minerality. Supple tannins and a long, lingering finish. MB (2/22)

Aged for a minimum of five years, the Padelletti Brunello di Montalcino Reserva is a premium red wine that is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes grown in the Montalcino region of Tuscany, Italy. This wine is characterized by its deep ruby color, intense aromas of dark fruit, leather, and spice, and its full-bodied, complex flavor profile that is marked by notes of black cherry, tobacco, and vanilla. The wine is aged in oak barrels for three years, followed by two years of bottle aging, which gives it a smooth, velvety texture and a long, lingering finish. This wine is a perfect accompaniment to hearty meat dishes, aged cheeses, and rich pasta dishes.

Bottega Petalo Moscato is made from the Moscato grape variety, known for its aromatic and sweet characteristics. The wine is typically light and effervescent, with floral and fruity aromas such as orange blossom, peach, and apricot. It has a delicate sweetness and a refreshing acidity, making it a popular choice for those who enjoy sweeter sparkling wines. Bottega is a well-known producer that combines traditional winemaking methods with modern techniques to create high-quality wines.

Family farmed since 1956 The Stewart Family is one of the "originals" in the Okanagan Valley. The winery was built in 1989 with vineyards stones throw away from Lake Okanagan. Their flagship red, the Pinot Noir has a beautiful, typical Pinot nose of wild cherry, raspberry and lavender leading to rich notes of all-spice, cedar, clove, and vanilla. Soft and round in the mouth with a medium body and a toasty black pepper finish.

Located in Montalcino, these Super-Tuscan wines from Luce (Light) are named for the altitude and southern exposure of their vineyards. Cool, breezy nights preserve the aromatic complexities of the grape and make for slow, even ripening. The Lucente is made primarily from Merlot with the addition of Sangiovese. Intense and bright red, the nose opens with intense fruity hints of blackberry, plum and currant, enriched by toasted and vanilla nuances. On the palate it is full and enveloping, soft and elegant, with a persistent finish that displays a pleasantly sweet and fruity aftertaste.

The Cogno family has been making wine for four generations in Piedmont. Located in Novello (one of the 11 communes in which Barolo can be made), it is now being run by Elvio's daughter Nadia and her husband Valter Fissore, the current winemaker. Ravera is a powerful Nebbiolo that has enticing scents of rose, tobacco and perfumed berry, along with a palate of violet, raspberry compote, star anise and wild mint. he finish is complex with some spice notes. This wine will no doubt become better with age. 

This wine is made from a blend of Sangiovese and small amounts of complementary grape varieties, all of which are handpicked and undergo a fermentation and maceration process.

On the nose, this wine exhibits intense aromas of ripe red fruit, with hints of spice and tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with a good balance of acidity and tannins. Flavors of cherry, plum, and a hint of vanilla are present, with a long and persistent finish.

Antoniolo Erbaluce di Caluso is a bright yellow wine with pale green reflections in the glass. The nose is very floral, with jasmine, green apple and apricot. The palate is crisp and very fine, elegant, with very tasty acidity. Strong mineral core, very refreshing.

Antinori Castello della Sala Cervaro is a white wine with a straw-yellow color. It has a complex aroma with notes of tropical fruit, white flowers, and vanilla. On the palate, it is full-bodied, rich, and creamy with a good acidity that balances the wine's richness. The wine has flavors of ripe apple, pear, and citrus fruits, with a long and persistent finish. It is a perfect match for fish, shellfish, and white meats.
