As you can probably figure out from the name, this is a peated expression, made specifically with heather-rich peat from the highlands. After distillation, the whisky was matured in first-fill ex-sherry casks and allowed a finishing period in virgin oak casks . the experience is a wonderfully floral and welcoming sweet BBQ smoke on the nose with floral undertones throughout. Notes of rich toffee and dark fruits combine on the palate with hints of tobacco leaf and dried apricots before a wonderfully rich and long finish with a hint of spice.
Glasgow 1770 Peated was named ‘Best Lowland Single Malt Whisky in 2020, 2021 and 2022' and is an absolute must for any peated whisky fans.

The 2019 Alter Ego de Palmer is a vibrant, complex Margaux Bordeaux, known for its intense dark fruit (black cherry, cassis, plum), floral notes (violets), and hints of spice, tobacco, and chocolate, offering a rich, velvety texture with silky tannins, great freshness, and a balanced, energetic profile that delivers depth often associated with a Grand Vin, showcasing a forward, fruit-driven style that's enjoyable young but capable of aging. 

The 2020 Pontet-Canet is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot, aging in 50% new French oak barriques, 35% concrete amphorae and 15% in one-year-old barrels. Harvest began on the 14th of September for the Merlot, and the final lot of Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested on 30th September. Opaque purple-black in colour, it needs significant aeration and swirling to coax out evocative notes of black cherry preserves, raspberry pie, blackcurrant pastilles and damp soil, before launching into gorgeous floral and spice notions of red roses, cinnamon stick, star anise and cardamom, with a waft of crushed rocks.

Vineyard notes: "Our new “Red Wine of the World,” this red blend is sourced from famed regions of southern Australia, the Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale. Consisting of Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro with a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon."

This second-label wine is a fine reflection of the estate. It is rich, with beautiful tannins and a creamy texture that has soft and generous blackberry fruits

This is a full-bodied oak matured red with with ripe plum, red fruits and complex perfumed oak bouquet. A concentrated middle palate with a long after taste of blackberries and undertones of spice. Good to drink now, but will continue to improve for the next 3-5 years.  Pairs easily with beef, lamb or even wild game such as venison. 

The wine is named in honour of former owner John Xavier Merriman, who bought the vineyard in 1892 in sympathy with growers suffering from the phylloxera crisis. He played a great role in revitalizing Rustenberg and in promoting the tourism and agricultural value of Ida's valley, which is close to Stellenbosch. The wine itself is a Bourdeaux-style blend, with all of the fruit coming from the Estate. Made predominantly from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the dominant grape in each bottle is whichever grape performed the best for that harvest.
