From Sacha Lichine's Chateau D'Esclans, the ever-popular, cult rose is back with current vintage, made with a blend of grenache, cinsault, and rolle. It's a highly anticipated rose wine every season with its pale pink colour and pure Provençal flavours of strawberry and orange cream, with subtle floral notes. The palate is ripe and fleshy, yet always fresh. Always a favourite.

Louis-Alexandre had a love for aged cognac. His own preference was to add an extra drop of Cognac to his glass of Grand Marnier, giving it a more intense taste. As a tribute, we created the premium Grand Marnier Cuvée Louis-Alexandre in 1977, using VSOP cognacs from the finest growing areas in the Cognac region, aged to perfection in tronçais oak casks for richer and deeper flavours.

This wine features aromas of red cherry, violet and talcum powder. In the mouth there are flavors of tart cherry and pomegranate juice. It is well balanced, with a pleasantly acidic finish.

Regauged into once-used bourbon barrels, this is not the WhistlePig of old. Four years’ finishing in Vermont has toned down the sweetness and high notes, emphasizing a complex, leather/dark chocolate/tobacco spectrum instead. Lavender, violets, and ripe red fruit rise over dusty-dry barn boards, blue clay, and dark rye bread. Koval was founded in Chicago in 2008 by Dr. Sonat Birnecker Hart and her husband, Dr. Robert Birnecker. The distillery was the first to open in the city since the mid-1800s. The word ‘koval’ means ‘smith’ or ‘blacksmith’ in many Eastern languages, but in Yiddish it also means ‘one who forges ahead’. Koval pays homage to Sonat’s grandfather who decided to “forge ahead” and move to the USA and start a new life from scratch. Each seasonal botanical is distilled individually to preserve the purity of its essence.

Fragrant spring lemon verbena, fresh summer rose, and ripe, autumnal blackcurrant leaf are tailored into a supple and vibrant gin which stimulates the senses, from its initial citrus burst to the rounded, generous finish.

Tasting Notes:
Vital Stats: 43% ABV. Distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2021. Double matured in American oak and ex-oloroso casks.
Appearance: This is a light straw color. It forms a thick rim on the glass that takes a long time to form into tears.
Nose: This has the smell of a honeysuckle tree, whole oranges, and a bit of lemon oil. There is just a hint of the grain on the nose as well.

Palate: This is like drinking honey water. It is light and delicate while being full of flavor. It is certainly on the sweet side with notes of honey and star fruit. There is a brief note of cherry on the mid palate. The front and mid palate are quite clean while the finish has a bit of that sulfur taste. The finish is complemented by a light earthy spice, reminiscent of white pepper and allspice. The addition of water sees the sweetness subdued and all the flavors other than the honey are present for longer. There is just a bit of malt that wasn't there straight out of the bottle as well.

Garnet red veering towards purple. Expressive, with creamy notes of black fruits such as blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry and sweet spices. Slender in the mouth, prolonged by a fine acidity, but wrapped up in a round, velvety and charming matter. Combines blackberry cream with toasted spices and vanilla. The finish is tonic, with a substance that gains in concentration and tannins. Harmonious, coherent, well balanced.

The Oban Distillers Edition 2021 is a unique blend of flavors achieved by aging the whisky in ex-bodega Montilla Fino cask wood. This process enhances the fruity and maritime notes, creating a complex and rich expression of the classic Oban flavor. Robert Mondavi Private Selection Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich, full-bodied red wine with aromas of ripe black cherries, blackberries, and cassis, along with hints of cigar box, black pepper, vanilla, and toasty oak according to Wine and Beyond. It has a medium body with soft, ripe tannins and flavors of ripe Bing cherries, blackberries, and plum, complemented by vanilla, toasty oak, and coffee notes according to Wine and Beyond. The finish is long, making it a great pairing for roasted or grilled meats, hearty pasta dishes, and strong cheeses.

This tequila, subtly and elegantly matured in French white oak barrels, gains remarkable depth and richness from aging in red-wine woods. The dual wood aging process imparts a unique flavor profile, with an intense gold and dark amber hue. Expect a multitude of fruity aromas intertwined with toasted oak notes, creating a truly distinctive spirit.

Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc, renowned for putting New Zealand on the wine map, offers intense and classic flavors of gooseberry, melon, lime, and mineral. It's an excellent match for grilled chicken, calamari, mildly spiced vegetarian dishes, or stuffed crab.

This expression is described by the distillers as “the heart of our range.” Matured in virgin oak, Pedro Ximénez, and oloroso casks. Oily on the nose, with ripe banana and a hint of oak. Quite full-bodied and slick on the palate, with vanilla, honey, and almonds. Milk chocolate and lime in the medium-length finish.

Nose: Aromas of caramel, vanilla, and oak.
Taste: Rich and smooth with notes of butterscotch, toffee, and a hint of spice.

This bold, ripe but nicely polished wine wraps black cherries, black currants and mint in moderate, fine-grained tannins that will help carry it for several years. Subtle cinnamon, clove and cedar accents keep it interesting on the finish. Best through 2030.

This wine is made exclusively from 100% Pinot Blanc grapes - a mutation of pinot noir, yet grown on steep slopes in the mountainous region of Alto-Adige with a cool, high altitude climate resulting in wines with zingy, fresh, high acidity.  The nose exhibits yellow apple, fresh Italian herbs with nuances of citrus. Initially linear in style, the ageing on the lees adds texture and complexity.  Pinot blanc is always a great alternative to those looking for a change of pace to pinot grigio.

With a mashbill of 72/18/10% (corn/rye/malted barley), Old Forester offers a traditional recipe in a contemporary proof. Ponder the basics: caramel and vanilla with hints of herbs and baking spices. Promise shows in pumpkin spice, custard, and burnt caramel, but there’s an unwanted high-alcohol note that dulls much of the sweeter taste. Its final moments are saved with hints of cinnamon. Good value bourbon.

The medium amber-colored spirit offers a blend of aromatic spices, such as delicate cinnamon and nutmeg, combined with subtle notes of toasty oak, toffee, chocolate, and vanilla. The Prisoner is a full-bodied and rich red blend that has gained a cult following since its first release in 2000. The wine is made from a blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Syrah, Charbono, and Grenache grapes sourced from various vineyards in the Napa Valley. The wine is aged in a combination of new and seasoned French and American oak barrels for up to 16 months, resulting in a complex and layered wine with aromas of blackberry, vanilla, and spice. On the palate, it is rich and velvety, with flavors of dark fruit, espresso, and chocolate. The wine has a long and smooth finish with fine tannins. The Prisoner is a bold and distinctive wine that has earned high scores from various wine critics and is widely popular among wine enthusiasts.

The name of Bollinger’s emblematic champagne, with its English spelling, encapsulates its entire history. It was the British agent of Georges Bollinger who, in 1911, christened it “Special Cuvée”, as he found the expression “non-vintage brut” did not befit a champagne of such subtlety. Over a century later, the name of the champagne emblematic of Bollinger’s expertise still encapsulates its entire history.
To the eye: A golden colour, distinctive of black grape varieties; very fine bubbles.
To the Nose: A beautiful aromatic complexity; ripe fruit and spicy aromas; hints of roasted apples, compote and peaches.
On the palate: A subtle combination of structure, length and vivacity; bubbles like velvet; pear, brioche and spicy aromas; notes of fresh walnut.
Pairs well with: Sushi, sashimi, grilled lobster and white meat.

The expression of the free spirit, a courageous blend, full of character, from three indigenous grape varieties. It has the heart of Georgia, the terroir of Moldova, and the free spirit of Ukraine.
The intense ruby colour and almond accents produce a complex bouquet dominated by cherries, blackberries, and currants, complemented by dried plums, red pepper, and savoury notes of moist wood and leather. The full and fruity taste captures the elegance and refinement and gives a velvet aftertaste. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrique.
Pairs well with: Red meat, fermented cheese appetizers and desserts with dark chocolate.

As with much of what passes for Japanese whisky, the spirit for this one was not produced in Japan, it was however matured there for at least some of its life. This "pure malt", a term no longer allowed in Scotland, means it is a blend of different single malts, or a Blended Malt. The sourced whiskies, almost certainly Scottish, where matured in ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry before marrying and gfinishing in Mizunara, Japanese Oak. 43%.

Tasting Notes

Nose: salted caramel, raisins, dates and figs; firm new leather, fruity tobacco and candied nuts; chocolate covered espresso beans and Twizzlers black licorice.

Palate: round, fruity and spicy; more salted caramel, firm new leather, Twizzlers Black and salty Dutch licorice; a trace of juicy malt, dried dark fruits and more chocolate covered espresso; drying and spicy with more cinnamon sticks, ginger root and fennel.

Finish: medium long, coating, drying and spicy; elegant but subtle.

Comment: the Mizunara oak notes do not come through quite as prominently for me on the 15 as they did on the 10 year; this is a more mature, austere and understated malt.

From the Piedmont wine region, Giribaldi 2014 is an intense and full-bodied Barolo with dark fruit, underbrush and earthy flavours on the palate and would benefit from a couple more years in cellar. The wine was aged in oak cask for 30 months and tannins are still quite firm
